Where else have you worked in the last five years?
In the last five years I’ve permanently lived in Interlaken. Before then I have worked in Queenstown New Zealand, at the Penrith Olympic White Water Centre in Sydney Australia and I have guided trips in Morocco, Austria, France and Italy.

How did you become a guide?
I started working at an Outdoor Center in Scotland when I was 15 years old because I wanted to do all the crazy things for free.
What is the worst job you ever had and how long did you stick it out?
When I traveled in Australia I had this job as a door-to-door salesman. I tried to sell expensive TV subscriptions to broke people. The job was commission based and I didn't earn any money, got chased away by dogs and I had to walk 10 miles by foot in the burning sun. After two days I quit.
What are your top 3 holiday destinations and why?
- Africa because of the kayaking
- Indonesia for surfing
- Costa Rica for kayaking, surfing and scuba diving.
What, in your opinion, is so special about Interlaken?
The international travelling vibe, the good energy and the amount of sick sports you can do in your backyard.
Apart from working for Outdoor Interlaken, what is your favorite thing to do in Switzerland?
Freeride Skiing
Have you ever had someone famous on your trip?
Yes, the Celtic Glasgow Football team.
What is the most memorable expedition you have made?
50’000 km around Australia – 9 months of no work!
What do you love most about your job?
It’s the people that make my job great!
